Last week Friday, the intake team in the empowerment program had to say
goodbye to Heather Lodahl, an American Social Work volunteer from Texas. Prior
to Heather’s arrival, she raised funds along with family and friends to bring a
gift to our centre where she would serve our communites.

While working in the intake program, Heather had a desire to make our
reception area in intake more welcoming and comfortable for clients and
also to improve the experience of visiting the centre for their children.
The Saartjie Baartman Centre would like to thank Heather, her family and
friends for the wonderful donations. Heather’s donations included, paint,
equipment for our ‘kids corner’, and other decorative objects.
