The Centre employs a researcher to research and document subjects relevant to its work, such as the development and evaluation of the particular model of partnership practised at the Centre, the economic empowerment of women and the replication of similar one-stop centres. Research projects undertaken by the Centre include The Saartjie Baartman Centre for Women and children: The story 1999-2005; Guidelines:how to 'grow' a one-stop centre 2005; and Economic empowerment of women survivors of gender-based violence (2006). The Centre has recently undertaken a digital story-telling project, which reflects the experiences of women survivors of abuse - told in their own words.
